Port of Antwerp

Between the historic centre of the city of Antwerp and the second largest seaport in Europe lies the "Asiadok", the second base of Aqua Libra Yachtcharter.
In cooperation with the "Antwerp Nautical Centre", we offer our exclusive Linssen Yachts in the centre of an impressive cruising area. Trips to Ghent and Bruges via the tidal river "Scheldt".  A boating holiday in the south of the Netherlands with destinations in Zeeland and Noord-Brabant, or a trip to historic cities such as Liège, Mechelen, Brussels via the quiet inland waters of Belgium.  These are just some of the possibilities from our base in Antwerp.
The city of Antwerp breathes port history. As early as the 12th century, Antwerp was first mentioned as a port for embarking passengers to England and Zeeland.
The old "Schipperskwartier" with its "Red light district" and "Willemdok".  The impressive MAS museum, the dry docks, the largest "diamond centre" in the world, the most beautiful 19th-century zoo in the world, the imposing cathedral, the stunning container terminals in the seaport are just some of the many attractions in this metropolis.
The specialists at the Antwerp Nautical Centre will be happy to assist you in planning an itinerary that meets your expectations.
Please note that for this basis, we ask that you hold a valid sailing licence, a marine radio certificate and sufficient experience in sailing a motor yacht. For additional information, please feel free to contact us.

A selection of places of interest
The map at the right shows a selection of places of interest in our cruising area around the base in Kinrooi. The map is designed so that all sights are within walking distance of ports or marinas.

How does the map work?  Click on the icon ( ) in the top left corner of the map and you will get a selection menu.  In this menu, you will see different layers on the map that you can tick or untick.  Depending on the layer you display you will see, for example : "Historical sites" - "Ports" - "Impressive natural areas" - "Exclusive shopping sites" etc.

On our "cruising routes" page, you will see a number of elaborated cruising route suggestions built on the same principle.  To plan your own route, we recommend using the water charts route planner.  Information on this planner can be found under the maps on this page.

Have fun, and if you have any suggestions or comments, we would of course be pleased to hear from you.
